Bethel Highlands Preschool, a ministry of Bethel Lutheran Church, is an instrument of God’s grace, love, and compassion that serves and supports families of the greater Hudson community. We provide a safe and loving environment with an excellent educational program that nurtures the spiritual, physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of the unique, God-given gifts of each child.

Developed through an emphasis on God: Father, Son and Spirit, through age-suited activities, songs, stories, and projects. Twice monthly Chapel times in the Sanctuary offer an ideal opportunity to grow a relationship with God.

Developed through the use of large and small muscles in games and play, aerobics, manipulative and non-manipulative activities, fine and large motor skills and creative movement exercises.

Developed through interaction with other children of his or her own age in planned activities and free play. Children learn to respect others and property in a setting where everyone is valued, and materials are quality.

Developed through various outlets for self-expression and expressive language; fostering growth in self-image and self-control.

Developed through an open atmosphere for exploration, curiosity, wonder, and experience. Teachers facilitate activities allowing children to learn academics and life-skills through play, creating an environment of support and positivity.
BHP Program & Values
Children experience lessons rooted in play and nature in an intentional environment with free play and guided station time. Lessons contain social and emotional skill builders as well as STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) and sensory activities. Weekly specials - such as music, art, fitness, and Spanish language – enhance growth in spiritual, physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
BHP maintains the highest standards through our national accreditation with NAEYC.
Our customized curriculum, based on the Creative Curriculum, is unrivaled. BHP is a state-of-the-art facility situated on a 40-acre Certified Wildlife Habitat. Educated and experienced teachers engage in developmentally appropriate practice to meet the needs of each individual student. Small class sizes (10-13 children per class) allow children to feel comfortable and confident in their first school setting.
PLAY
Learning happens best through play and experience. Weekly specials such as music, art, science, nature, physical education/yoga, and Spanish language enhance our play-based curriculum. Our educated and experienced team creates daily plans with developmentally appropriate practice that balance structured and guided unstructured time.
NATURE
Health is positively impacted with daily contact with nature. BHP is located on a beautiful, 40-acre Certified Wildlife Habitat where students experience outdoor classroom time, wildlife sightings, nature trail walks, and wooded exploration in all seasons.
COMMUNITY
A sense of belonging and social connectedness are foundational for development. Activities and relationships within the school, church, school district, and greater St. Croix Valley community, develop social/emotional skills.
FAITH
Students practice prayer and chapel points / affirmations to self- regulate and influence positive thought patterns as part of our social/emotional and mental health focus.
